Aeroporto de Salvador now has more comfort and agility for its passengers by using Digicon products.
VINCI AIRPORTS, the airport operator, chose Digicon’s innovation to automate passenger boarding.
One of the favorite destinations for Brazilians and the world, Aeroporto de Salvador is one of the ten busiest airports in the country. In 2018 alone, more than 8 million passengers travelled through the terminal to around 30 destinations with direct connections, between domestic and international.
VINCI Airports is one of the five main global companies in the airport sector, managing the development and operations of 46 airports located in France, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden, Serbia, Cambodia, Japan, United States, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Chile and Brazil. It is also investing in modernizing and expanding Aeroporto de Salvador, including the construction of a new 20,000 m² area and the change of all terminal furniture.
DIGICON AND DFLOW MAKING THE DIFFERENCE
Digicon, recognized for its experience in managing the flow of people, supplied and installed dFlow BCBP (Bar Coded Boarding Pass) equipment, which is now responsible for control of passengers entering the airport’s boarding area. 5 dFlow passageways were supplied and installed to tend to the domestic and international departures from Salvador.
ADVANTAGES
With the dFlow’s exclusive sensor, wider and safer passages will be allowed, assuring total accessibility, with maximum fraud control (tailgater). Thus, the operator will reduce the number of agents for the manual reading of boarding passes, reducing lines, increasing the inflow of passengers and, of course, reducing their costs.
INTEGRATING PARTNER
In this Salvador operation, Digicon relied on the partnership of the American company Collins Space, one of the largest aerospace engineering and technology companies in the world. It will provide passenger verification software (Arinc’s VeriPax), which will run on our access control equipment. Thus, the user will also gain more agility for the consultation of flights, schedule confirmations, boarding gate clearance and many other services.
INSTALLATION TIME
Digicon’s equipment has been installed since June 2019, operating offline. From September 2019 onwards, it works online with the Veripax Software for consulting of flight information in real time.
